JU to remain closed Sunday

Jahangirnagar University (JU) will remain closed on Sunday, due to ongoing activities related to the Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (JUCSU) and Hall Parliament elections, according to a press release signed by Registrar ABM Azizur Rahman on Saturday (September 13).

All academic and administrative activities, including pre-scheduled examinations, will be suspended for the day.

However, admission activities for first-year undergraduate students for the 2024–25 academic session will continue as scheduled. Offices involved in admission will remain open, and relevant staff and faculty have been instructed to be present.

The university has been engaged in election-related activities for the past four days. Voting concluded on Saturday morning, and the counting of ballots is now underway. The Election Commission expects to announce results by Saturday evening.

Classes and offices are scheduled to reopen as usual on Monday, although all previously scheduled final examinations will remain postponed until further notice.
