JUCSU poll results likely after 10 pm

The results of the Jahangirnagar University Central Students’ Union (JUCSU) election are unlikely to be published before 10 pm tonight (Friday, September 12), according to election officials.

Despite earlier expectations of an evening announcement, university authorities now say the current manpower may only allow for a late-night declaration of results.

“We expect to complete the hall-wise vote counting by late afternoon and may be able to unofficially announce the final results between 10 pm and 11 pm,” said AKM Rashidul Alam, the university proctor and member secretary of the election commission, speaking to reporters.

Earlier in the day, a member of the election commission had indicated that the results could be announced by the evening.
