Judiciary members barred from commercial coaching activities

Members of the Judicial Service are prohibited from engaging directly or indirectly in coaching activities on any commercial platform, whether physical or digital, according to a circular issued by the Supreme Court administration on Tuesday, August 25. The circular was issued on August 24 with the approval of the Chief Justice.

The circular stated that to uphold professional discipline, impartiality and dignity of members serving in the Bangladesh Judicial Service, and to maintain public confidence in the judiciary, the following directives have been issued regarding engagement in commercial coaching activities on physical or digital platforms.

No member of the Service shall be involved, directly or indirectly, in coaching activities conducted on a commercial basis through physical or digital platforms.

No member of the Service shall use, or permit the use of, their name, designation, image or identity for commercial advertising or promotion of coaching activities on any physical or digital platform.

No member of the Service shall disclose, supply or use any confidential, unpublished or official information obtained in the course of judicial duties for coaching activities on any physical or digital platform.

No member of the Service shall prepare, edit, publish or supply educational materials for commercial coaching activities on physical or digital platforms.

Violation of any provision of this circular will result in appropriate disciplinary action against the concerned member under applicable laws and rules.
