July fighters to be granted unanimous immunity: Info Minister
Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon has said that a unanimous immunity will be provided for July fighters. The law in this regard will be passed in the next parliament session. He gave this information at a press briefing organized at the Secretariat to mark the government's one-month anniversary on Wednesday (March 25).
Expressing gratitude to the people for electing BNP in the 13th national election, the Information Minister said that from now on, the details of the government's activities will be presented to the nation every month.
Stating that the government is giving utmost importance to implementing the promises made in the election manifesto, he said that within just 21 days of taking office, the distribution of family cards has started before the ink of the vote is wiped off. So far, 41 million families have been identified in the country and cards will be given to everyone in phases.
Regarding the farmer card, the minister said that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will inaugurate the card distribution on the next Pohela Boishakh.The activities will start from Tangail and initially 21,000 farmer cards will be distributed.
In addition, the honorarium of Imams and Muazzins has started. Eid gifts have been distributed by the Prime Minister in every place of the constituency.
The Information Minister also said that from now on, members of parliament will not take any duty-free car facilities or plots. In addition, the VIP protocol convoy surrounding the Prime Minister has also been canceled.
