The July Memorial Museum will be opened to the public from August 6, said Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury. He also said there will be a ticketing system for entry to the museum.

The minister made the announcement while speaking to journalists at the Secretariat on Tuesday, August 4.

Earlier, the 'July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum', built to preserve the memory of the July uprising, will be inaugurated on Wednesday. The minister said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will formally inaugurate the museum at 9am on Wednesday.

The minister said the museum would be open for journalists to visit after the inauguration.

Nitai Roy Chowdhury said the first day would be reserved exclusively for family members of those martyred in the July uprising.

The minister said the July Memorial Museum would be opened to the general public from August 6. However, as managing a large number of visitors at once could be difficult, a timed slot entry system has been arranged. Visitors will need to book online in advance. The ticket price for adults has been set at Tk 50 and Tk 25 for children.
