Family members of those killed and injured in the July Uprising staged a protest in front of the National Press Club on Sunday (August 24), demanding the resignation of Law Adviser Asif Nazrul and Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser for Home Affairs, Khoda Baksh Chowdhury.

The sit-in began around 11am under the banner of 'Martyr Family, Injured Family and Student Crowd'.

Police were deployed in the area, adjacent to the Secretariat, to maintain order.

Protesters chanted slogans demanding accountability, including “Resignation of the Law Adviser is our one and only demand” and “My brother is in the grave, why is the murderer still free?”

Speakers at the protest accused the government of delaying justice. They alleged that key perpetrators of the July killings remain at large while those named in the case are being granted bail.

They also condemned recent police actions against families of the victims and criticized the authorities for inaction.
