Junior Scholarship Exam answer scripts can now be sold

Evaluated answer scripts from the 2025 Junior Scholarship Examination no longer need to be returned to the Dhaka Education Board, as the mandatory six-month retention period has expired.

The Board issued a notice on Tuesday (September 15), allowing chief examiners to sell the scripts in accordance with the applicable rules instead of returning them to the board.

Signed by Dhaka Education Board Secretary Prof S M Kamal Uddin Haider, the notice said the answer scripts allocated to chief examiners had been preserved for six months after evaluation as required under examination regulations. The retention period has now ended.

The instruction applies to all chief examiners involved in the Junior Scholarship Examination under the Dhaka Education Board.

The 2025 Junior Scholarship Examination began on December 28, with Bangla, English and Mathematics held on December 28, 29 and 30 respectively. The Science and Bangladesh and Global Studies examinations scheduled for December 31 were postponed following the death of former prime minister Khaleda Zia and were later held on January 5, 2026.

The written examinations concluded with the rescheduled tests, while the results were published on February 25.

Under the latest directive, chief examiners may now dispose of the evaluated answer scripts through sale rather than sending them back to the board.
