Junior scholarship exam starts on December 8, 6 instructions to be followed

Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board has published the schedule for the 2026 junior scholarship examination. The examination will start from December 8 and end on December 15. The board has also issued six instructions for the examinees.

According to the schedule, the Bangla examination will be held on December 8, English on December 10, Mathematics on December 13 and Science and Bangladesh and Global Studies on December 15.

Earlier, the education calendar published by the Ministry of Education had stated that the junior scholarship examination would be held from December 15 to 20. December 30 was also set as the possible date for result publication. According to the new decision, the examination will start and end before the previously scheduled time.

The six instructions for the examinees state that they must sit in their respective seats at least 30 minutes before the start of the examination. The examination will be held according to the time mentioned in the question paper. For Science and Bangladesh and Global Studies, the examination will be held for a total of three hours with one and a half hours separately for each subject. Admit cards must be collected from the head of the respective educational institution at least seven days before the examination.

Necessary information including roll number, registration number and subject code must be written correctly on the OMR form of the answer sheet and the designated bubbles filled. The answer sheet must not be folded under any circumstances. Board-approved ordinary scientific calculators may be used in the examination. No person other than the centre secretary or any examinee may bring any type of electronic device including mobile phones to the examination centre.

This time the junior scholarship examination will be held on a total of 400 marks. Examinations of 100 marks each will be held in Bangla, English and Mathematics with three hours allotted for each subject. In Science and Bangladesh and Global Studies, examinations of 50 marks each will be held for a total of 100 marks. A total of three hours will be allotted for these two subjects with one and a half hours for each. Merit scholarships and general scholarships will be awarded to students on the basis of the marks obtained.
