Justice Habibul Gani sworn in as Appellate Division judge
Justice Md Habibul Gani was sworn in as a judge of the Appellate Division of the Bangladesh Supreme Court on Sunday (August 30).
Chief Justice administered the oath to Justice Gani at the Supreme Court Judges’ Lounge in the morning.
Supreme Court Registrar General Mohammad Habibur Rahman Siddiquee conducted the swearing-in ceremony.
President appointed Justice Gani to the Appellate Division on August 27 under Article 95(1) of the Constitution.
The Law Ministry subsequently issued a gazette notification stating that the appointment would take effect from the date of his oath.
Justice Gani had been serving in the High Court Division before his elevation.
With his appointment, the Appellate Division now has five judges, including the Chief Justice.
