Shahed Ahmed Majumder, son of former state minister of industries and former Awami League MP of Dhaka-15 Kamal Ahmed Majumder, was arrested in Dhaka on Saturday night. He was arrested in a joint raid around 11:00pm from a house in Gulshan area, Hafizur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Gulshan Model Police Station, said. He said that a murder case was filed against Shahed with the Mirpur Police Station and an anti-terrorism case with the Gulshan station. He is at the police station right now and will be produced before the court in the morning, he added.

সাবেক শিল্প প্রতিমন্ত্রী ও ঢাকা-১৫ আসনের সাবেক সংসদ সদস্য কামাল আহমেদ মজুমদারের ছেলে শাহেদ আহমেদ মজুমদারকে গ্রেপ্তার করেছে পুলিশ। শনিবার (২৭ সেপ্টেম্বর) রাজধানীর গুলশান-১ এর একটি বাসা থেকে কাউন্টার টেররিজম ইউনিট ও গুলশান থানা-পুলিশের যৌথ অভিযানে তাকে গ্রেপ্তার করা হয়। বর্তমানে তিনি গুলশান থানায় আছেন। গুলশান থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) হাফিজুর রহমান গণমাধ্যমকে এ তথ্য নিশ্চিত করে বলেন, শাহেদ আহমেদ মজুমদারকে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করা হচ্ছে। তার নামে গুলশান থানায় সন্ত্রাসবিরোধী আইনে একটি মামলা রয়েছে। এছাড়া মিরপুর মডেল থানায় একটি হত্যা মামলা দায়ের করা হয়েছে। পুলিশ জানিয়েছে, প্রাথমিক জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ শেষে তাকে আদালতে হাজির করা হবে।
