Khaleda Zia declared VVIP for her dignity and security: Planning Adviser

BNP chairperson and former three-time prime minister Begum Khaleda Zia has been declared a very very important person, VVIP, considering her health, security and dignity, Planning Adviser Wahiduddin Mahmud said on Tuesday, December 2.

Speaking at a briefing at the chief adviser’s Jamuna residence, he said the decision aims to ensure uninterrupted treatment, facilitate travel, and prepare for possible medical transfer abroad. All agencies have been directed to immediately enforce the VVIP status.

Earlier, at a meeting chaired by the chief adviser at the state guesthouse Jamuna, prayers were offered for Khaleda Zia’s recovery and the public was urged to pray for her.

Wahiduddin Mahmud said Khaleda Zia’s family and party have been informed of the decision. Law Adviser Dr Asif Nazrul and the chief adviser’s press secretary Shafiqul Alam were also present.
