Khaleda Zia returns home from hospital after health checkup

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia has returned home following a health checkup at Evercare Hospital in the capital.

Earlier, she left her Gulshan residence for Evercare Hospital in Bashundhara and reached there at 8:20pm on Thursday.

After the health checkup, she reached home at around 11:45pm, BNP Media Cell Member Shairul Kabir Khan said.

BNP Secretary General and other leaders and activists were present at the hospital.

Earlier, Khaleda Zia went to London for advanced treatment on January 8. After undergoing treatment at a London clinic for 17 days, Khaleda Zia was under treatment at her son Tarique Rahman's house on January 25 under the supervision of London Clinic's specialist doctors Professor Patrick Kennedy and Professor Jennifer Cross.

Khaleda Zia returned to Dhaka on May 6 after receiving advanced treatment in London, UK. Following her arrival, a medical board led by Evercare Hospital specialist Professor Shahabuddin Talukder has been providing her with medical care at her residence.

The 80-year-old BNP chairperson has long been suffering from multiple health complications.
