Khaleda Zia’s health condition improves: Dr Zahid

BNP Standing Committee member Dr AZM Zahid Hossain on Friday (December 19) said BNP Chairperson and former prime minister Khaleda Zia’s physical condition has improved.

Speaking to reporters in the evening, Dr Zahid said Khaleda Zia is currently receiving treatment in a CCU-equipped cabin under the supervision of a medical board comprising both local and foreign specialists.

He noted that her condition is better than in recent days and that she successfully underwent a medical procedure earlier on Friday.

The physicians treating her are optimistic about her recovery, he added.

Dr Zahid also said BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, his wife Dr Zubaida Rahman, and Syeda Sharmila Rahman, wife of the late Arafat Rahman Koko, along with other family members, are maintaining constant contact with the medical team to stay updated on her condition.

On behalf of the party, he sought prayers from the nation for Khaleda Zia’s continued recovery.
