Md Rashed Khan, political assistant to the Prime Minister, has commented that the leaders and activists of the National Citizen Party (NCP) now appear honest due to lack of opportunity. He claimed that after going from the government to the opposition, the leaders and activists of NCP are no longer getting the opportunities of power like before.

He made this comment in a post given on his verified Facebook account on Tuesday (August 25).

Rashed Khan said that he has seen the dominance of the leaders, activists and coordinators of NCP during the 18 months of the interim government. He also commented that various activities of the party’s leaders have come up in media reports at different times.

Mentioning that Osman Hadi had identified three issues regarding the activities of NCP, Rashed Khan said that the party has destroyed the unity of July, just as the Awami League has shown the history of 1971 in its own way, in the same way NCP has tried to take July under its control and there were also allegations of corruption against the party. However, he also commented that these activities are no longer being seen much in recent times.

Rashed Khan said that after going from the ruling party to the opposition, the leaders and activists of NCP are no longer getting the opportunity to commit misdeeds like before. There is also no opportunity to enter the secretariat or the secretary’s room at will and do anything. In his words, ‘Due to lack of opportunity they appear honest. This is certainly a kind of good.’

Raising the issue of the activities of Jamaat-Shibir, he said that during the interim government news of such activities against them did not come much in the media. But at present allegations of involvement in various misdeeds against the leaders and activists of Jamaat-Shibir are coming to the fore, he also claimed.

Calling for ensuring tolerance and accountability among the political parties of the country, Rashed Khan said that not only the six-month activities of the ruling party should be evaluated, the six-month activities of the opposition parties should also be reviewed. Through this an environment of transparency and accountability will be created in the country and it will be possible to take the country forward with everyone.
