Late Koko’s wife Sharmila Rahman leads Tarique Rahman’s campaign in Dhaka-17
Syeda Sharmila Rahman Sithi, wife of the late Arafat Rahman Koko, has joined the election campaign on behalf of BNP chairman Tarique Rahman ahead of the 13th national parliamentary election on February 12.
Unable to campaign in person in Dhaka-17 due to nationwide election activities, Tarique Rahman sent Sharmila to lead outreach in the constituency. On Saturday (January 31), she started voter engagement and leaflet distribution at Shahajadpur’s Subastu Noor Valley Market and later continued at DNCC Market in Gulshan.
Sharmila urged residents to support Tarique Rahman, saying, “I am here for my brother. Please pray for him and give him your vote.”
Local BNP leaders, including Barrister Mehenaz Mannan, wife of BNP leader Barrister Nasir Uddin, and members of allied organisations attended the campaign.
Tarique Rahman is contesting as the BNP candidate from both Dhaka-17 and Bogura-6.
