Law enforcement to remain deployed for 7 days during election

Law enforcement agencies will remain deployed for seven days surrounding the upcoming 13th parliamentary election and referendum, according to a Home Ministry circular issued on Wednesday, January 7.

The deployment will run from February 8 to 14, covering four days before voting, election day and two days after.

With nearly 130 million voters across 43,000 polling centres, more than 700,000 law enforcement personnel will be engaged. Of them, around 550,000 Ansar-VDP members will guard polling centres, alongside police, RAB, BGB, Coast Guard and over 90,000 armed forces members.
