Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md Asaduzzaman has urged judges to ensure justice by making responsible and correct decisions. He said the government will always stand by judges if they work to establish justice.

The minister made the remarks while addressing as chief guest the inaugural ceremony of the 20th Orientation Course for Additional District and Sessions Judges at the Judicial Administration Training Institute complex in the capital on Saturday morning, May 9.

Addressing the judges, the law minister said they should always strive to make correct decisions. "You ensure justice, we are by your side," he said.

He said public trust in the judiciary must be increased further. To meet people's expectations, judges must work responsibly by avoiding obstacles that come in the way of establishing justice.

The law minister also highlighted the government's policy stance. He said the foundation of work should be responsibility and correct decision-making, not popularity. He emphasised remaining steadfast on the path of justice in all circumstances.

Stating the government's firm stance against corruption, the minister said no form of corruption will be tolerated. Judges must also remain aware and vigilant in this regard.

He further said everyone must play a responsible role to succeed in the long struggle to establish the rule of law, human rights and justice. There is no scope to avoid this responsibility for the sake of future generations.

Md Emdadul Haque presided over the ceremony. Law Commission members, trainee judges, officials and employees of the Judicial Administration Training Institute and media representatives were present.
