Reza Ahmed, a BNP MP from Kushtia-1 constituency, has demanded in the National Parliament that politics in mosques and madrasas should be stopped in the country. He said, "Mosques are the houses of Allah, people will pray in mosques, read the Quran in mosques, but a political party does politics in mosques."

He made this demand while participating in the budget discussion for the 2026-2027 fiscal year on the 12th day of the second and first budget sessions of the 13th National Parliament on Monday.

In the budget discussion, Reza Ahmed requested the Home Minister to pass a law so that political meetings cannot be held in any mosques and madrasas. In this context, he said, "Just as we hold worker rallies, public meetings in football fields or high schools or in any hall, BNP or other political parties must also make the same arrangements. They can't hold meetings in the mosque. I don't know if everyone agrees with me."
