A legal notice has been sent to concerned government departments seeking an investigation against Chief Adviser of the interim government Dr Muhammad Yunus and 24 other advisers, and requesting a ban on their travel abroad until the investigation is completed.

Supreme Court lawyer Barrister M Ashraful Islam sent the notice on Monday, April 6.

The notice stated that a severe measles outbreak has occurred in the country, resulting in the deaths of over a hundred children. Many other children and ordinary people have been infected and are undergoing treatment in hospitals.

The notice alleged that the transfer of the vaccination programme to the private sector outside the state system may involve 'illegal or nefarious activities' and demanded a full investigation into the matter.

The notice said the advisers must be banned from leaving the country until the investigation is completed, and a high-level investigation committee must be formed.

It also called for investigations against several former officials and those responsible, alongside the members of the adviser council.

The notice has been sent to the Cabinet Secretary, Health Secretary, Home Secretary and other relevant ministry secretaries, urging them to form an investigation committee and take necessary measures within five days.

Failure to take action within the stipulated time will result in legal proceedings, the notice said.
