A legal notice has been served on the managing director of Titas Gas and the secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources for disobeying the High Court order.

Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Omar Faruk on Tuesday sent the notice on behalf of Capital Board Mills.

The notice states that as per the High Court order, the gas connection of Capital Board Mills Limited cannot be disconnected. But even then, on March 5, Titas Gas authorities disconnected the gas connection of Capital Board Mills which is a violation of the court order. This stopped the factory's production and 700 employees became unemployed. As a result, there was a problem in supplying paper to the National Textbook and Curriculum Board. On March 13, the Capital Board Mills authorities requested Titas Gas in writing to restore the gas connection in this regard. But no action was taken accordingly.

The notice states that a contempt of court complaint will be filed with the High Court if the gas connection is not restored to Capital Board Mills Limited within 24 hours.
