Online applications for this year’s scholarship examinations for fifth- and eighth-grade madrasa students will open on September 2 and remain available until September 12, the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board has announced.

However, the deadline for paying the board fee online is September 11, according to two separate notices issued by the board on Thursday (August 27).

The notices, signed by Examination Controller Prof Md Faruk Ahmed, said up to 40 percent of students studying in fifth grade at board-approved independent ebtedayee madrasas, attached ebtedayee sections, and Dakhil, Alim, Fazil and Kamil madrasas can take part in the fifth-grade scholarship examination.

For the eighth-grade Dakhil scholarship examination, up to 40 percent of eligible students can participate based on their sixth-grade registration records.

The board fee has been set at Tk 400 per candidate, payable online to the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board. An additional Tk 200 centre fee must be paid to the respective madrasa, which will then transfer the amount to the centre secretary.

For the fifth-grade Ebtedayee scholarship examination, institutions must log in to the board’s designated website using their EIIN or institutional code and password. They then need to select the “Ebtedayee Scholarship Entry” option and pay the board fee through the Sonali Payment Gateway.

Once the fee is paid, institutions can enter candidate information, verify the details and make any necessary corrections before submitting the information finally. Students’ names, parents’ names and birth registration numbers must match the admission register and birth certificates.

For the eighth-grade Dakhil scholarship examination, institutions must select the “JDC/8th Scholarship e-FF 2026” option on the board’s website. A probable candidate list will then be generated for institutions to select eligible students.

After verification, institutions can prepare a provisional list. The final candidate list will become available 24 hours after payment of the examination fee. Institutions must print the list and obtain signatures from the candidates and the head of the institution.

Copies of the board’s notices have been sent to regional offices, deputy commissioners, upazila nirbahi officers, and district and upazila education officials for necessary action.
