Mahdi Amin, Saleh Shibli appointed PMO spokespersons
Prime Minister's Adviser Mahdi Amin and Press Secretary Abu Abdullah M Saleh Shibli have been appointed as spokespersons for the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) to disseminate official information. The appointment was announced through a notification issued on Sunday, April 5.
According to the notification, the two officials will serve as spokespersons for disseminating any information related to the PMO to the press, media or other channels, under Rule 28(4) of the Rules of Business, 1996.
Mahdi Amin, currently serving as Prime Minister's Adviser with the rank of state minister, holds responsibilities for the Ministries of Education, Primary and Mass Education, Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, and Labour and Employment. He previously served as a member and spokesperson of BNP's central election conduct committee and has worked as an adviser to Tarique Rahman for a long time.
Abu Abdullah M Saleh (Shibli) has long been involved in journalism and media management. He has worked with UNB, daily Manabzamin, Banglabazar Patrika and Channel i. He has also served as general secretary of the Dhaka Reporters' Unity (DRU) and the Dhaka University Journalists' Association. Later, he worked as First Secretary (Press) at the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata and as press secretary to the BNP chairperson.
All formal statements or information related to the Prime Minister's Office will now be provided to the media through these two spokespersons.
