Mahin, held in Sohag murder, has been pictured with NCP leaders: Mirza Abbas
BNP standing committee member Mirza Abbas has claimed that Mahin, who was arrested in the murder of businessman Lal Chand alias Sohag, has earlier been pictured with Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP) leaders.
Claiming that BNP has no involvement in Sohag's murder, he said: "I have a picture, I cannot show it at the moment. The youth named Mahin, who was caught in Sohag murder incident, has earlier been pictured with the NCP leaders. I can show it, I can challenge."
Mirza Abbas said this at a rally held in front of the BNP central office in Nayapaltan in the capital on Monday afternoon. Dhaka Metropolitan North and South BNP organized this rally to demand exemplary punishment for the continuous conspiratorial lies and propaganda against BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman and the brutal murder of Sohag.
Stating that BNP has no connection with this murder, he further said: "The footage of the murder seems to have been deliberately made. An attempt is being made to bring it forward to defeat BNP. But while trying to trap BNP, the involvement of others has been surfaced. Mahin's photo with NCP leaders proved that there is a conspiracy to put the responsibility of the murder on BNP's shoulders. An attempt is being made to push us towards Awami League. No matter how many conspiracies are made, BNP cannot be removed from the minds of the people."
Addressing the countrymen, he said: "There is no reason to be confused. I request the countrymen, those of you who have seen Mitford's video, analyze it carefully.'
At this time, he criticized Jamaat-e-Islami and Charmonai Pir. He said: "Bangladesh is not safe in anyone's hands except BNP. Martyred President Ziaur Rahman fought and liberated the country. Where were Charmonai and Jamaat-e-Islami then. Now they are talking long and hard."
