A major financial scandal has emerged as the reason behind the abrupt suspension of all operations of Flight Expert, one of the leading online ticketing platforms. Just before the platform ceased operations on Saturday, Flight Expert’s CEO Salman Bin Rashid Shah Sayeem addressed a message to a group of company officials, revealing details of the alleged scandal. Views Bangladesh obtained this statement from a confidential source.

In the message, CEO Sayeem accused three company officials of being involved in the financial misconduct. These three individuals have already been arrested by the police.

Sayeem wrote: "Dear Flight Expert Team, I must share something important with you. A betrayal has taken place—Saeed, Hossain, and Sakib are behind it. Their actions were premeditated, and during Thursday’s meeting, they put the entire blame on me. It was a setup, and I wasn’t given a chance to defend myself. This morning, they withdrew Tk 30 million and kept it for themselves. As a result, the company has now shut down operations. Due to threats and blame directed at me, I am retreating to a safe distance. I never intended to leave this way. I am truly sorry that I have to go.”

The three accused officials were arrested on Sunday in connection with a case filed at Motijheel Police Station. They are: Head of Finance Sakib Hossain (32), Chief Commercial Officer Saeed Ahmed (40), and Chief Operating Officer A.K.M. Sadat Hossain (32). The case was filed late Saturday night by a customer named Bikash Sarker. A total of five individuals have been named as accused in the case—besides the three arrested, it also includes CEO Salman Bin Rashid Shah Sayeem and his father M.A. Rashid.

Assistant Commissioner Farabi stated that efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining accused. Prior to his arrest, Saeed Ahmed had filed a general diary (GD), in which he claimed that CEO Salman had fled the country.

In the GD, Saeed also mentioned growing concerns among customers and suppliers due to the company’s financial instability, and that some employees had received threats from angry customers.
