Man stabbed to death at shisha bar in Banani
A 31-year-old man was fatally stabbed following an altercation at a shisha bar in the capital’s Banani area early Thursday morning.
The victim, identified as Rahat Hossain Rabbi, was attacked around 4:30 AM on the staircase of 360 Degree Shisha Bar, located at House 100, Road 11, Banani.
According to police and eyewitnesses, Rabbi was exiting the place when a verbal dispute broke out with a group of six to seven individuals, including a man named Munna. The confrontation quickly escalated into violence.
The attackers reportedly assaulted Rabbi and stabbed him multiple times—three times in the left thigh and once in the right elbow—using a sharp weapon.
Rabbi was rushed to Kurmitola General Hospital in critical condition, where attending physicians declared him dead on arrival.
He was a resident of Hazari Bari, Mohakhali.
Police from Banani Police Station arrived at the scene shortly after the incident and are currently collecting evidence. A manhunt is underway to apprehend the suspects involved in the attack.
Authorities have assured that all efforts are being made to bring the perpetrators to justice.
