Maximum admission fee for Class XI set at Tk 8,500

The Ministry of Education has fixed session charges and admission fees for Class XI for the 2026-27 academic year, varying by institution. According to the new guidelines, admission fees will range from a minimum of Tk 1,500 to a maximum of Tk 8,500.

This information was revealed from the Class XI admission guidelines published by the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education on Monday (August 24).

According to the guidelines, a maximum of Tk 8,500 can be charged for admission to the English version at non-MPO or partially MPO colleges in the Dhaka metropolitan area. For the Bangla version at similar colleges, the admission fee is Tk 7,500.

For MPO-affiliated colleges in the Dhaka metropolitan area, the admission fee for both Bangla and English versions is Tk 5,000. In metropolitan areas outside Dhaka, this fee is Tk 3,000. At the district level, Tk 2,000 can be charged, and at the upazila and mofussil level, Tk 1,500.

For non-MPO colleges in the Dhaka metropolitan area, the fee has been set at Tk 7,500 for the Bangla version and Tk 8,500 for the English version. In metropolitan areas outside Dhaka, Tk 5,000 can be charged for Bangla version and Tk 6,000 for English version.

At the district level, admission fees for non-MPO colleges have been set at Tk 3,000 for Bangla version and Tk 4,000 for English version. In upazila and mofussil areas, Tk 2,500 and Tk 3,000 can be charged for Bangla and English versions respectively.

In addition, the fee for online applications for Class XI admission has been set at Tk 220. At the time of confirming a student's initial admission, the education board must be paid a total of Tk 340 in various fees.

These include a registration fee of Tk 142, sports fee of Tk 50, Rover/Ranger fee of Tk 15, Red Crescent fee of Tk 16, science and technology fee of Tk 7, BNCC fee of Tk 10 and Tk 100 for teachers' welfare and retirement benefits.

Additionally, Tk 24 for Red Crescent fee and Tk 400 for annual sports grant must be sent to the board from each student.

The application fee for Class XI admission has also been increased this year. Last year it was Tk 335, but this year it has been raised by Tk 5 to Tk 340.
