MBBS admission test to be held on February
The medical admission test for the 2024-25 academic year is planned to be held in February next year. If the proposal is approved, the MBBS admission test will take place on February 14. The final date will be confirmed in a meeting regarding the admission test at the beginning of November, as confirmed by several officials of the Health Ministry.
An official stated that although there were initial thoughts of holding the medical admission test in mid-January, that decision has been changed. "Considering students' application submissions, collection of admit cards, availability of exam centers, and the dates of other university admission tests, the decision was made not to hold the test in January for the convenience of the students," he said.
A source from the Directorate General of Health Education mentioned that the policies prepared for admissions in the 2023-24 academic year will be revised. Discussions have taken place on determining the criteria for admission under the poor quota, giving students an opportunity to improve their HSC results, and lowering GPA requirements, among other issues.
According to the source, the most significant change in the medical admission test policy may involve in the scoring system. The test may be conducted for a total of 120 marks, with 100 marks allocated for MCQs and the remaining 20 marks based on GPA. Since there is a high number of students achieving GPA-5 this year, the marks allocated for GPA in the admission test may be reduced.
