Md. Babul Mian takes charge as new chairman of BCIC

Additional Secretary of the government Md. Babul Mian has taken charge as the chairman of Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC). He recently joined the post of chairman of this state-owned organisation.

Md. Babul Mian started government service by joining the administration cadre of the 15th BCS in 1995. In his long career, he has performed duties in various important posts of the field administration and central administration.

While performing duties in the field administration, he worked as assistant commissioner and magistrate, assistant commissioner (land), upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) and additional district administrator in various districts.

Babul Mian has also performed various important duties in the central administration. He performed duties in various offices and ministries of the government including the Ministry of Public Administration, Ministry of Liberation War Affairs and Ministry of Planning.

Before joining as the chairman of BCIC, he was working as additional secretary of the Ministry of Planning. From there, he was given the responsibility of the post of chairman of BCIC.

BCIC is one of the important institutions of the industry and production sector of the government. Various fertiliser, paper, cement, chemical and other industrial institutions of the country are being operated under the organisation. As the new chairman, Md. Babul Mian will now lead the overall activities of the institution.
