Measles symptom claims 5 more children

Five more children died with measles symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, raising the number of deaths from confirmed measles and measles symptoms to 1,081 from March 15 to September 24, according to a press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) issued today.

According to the release, 1,183 suspected measles cases were reported in the past 24 hours, while the number of suspected cases stood at 184,632 from March 15 to September 24.

A total of 100 confirmed measles cases were reported in the past 24 hours, bringing the number of confirmed cases to 20,951 since March 15.

From March 15 to September 24, a total of 163,153 suspected measles patients were admitted to hospitals. During the same period, 156,744 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.

Five children died with suspected measles in the past 24 hours, while a total of 980 children have died from suspected measles since March 15.

No one died from confirmed measles in the past 24 hours. Since March 15, a total of 101 children have died from confirmed measles.
