Met office forecasts dry weather across country
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecasted mostly dry weather today, with periods of partly cloudy skies across the country.
"Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country", according to a met forecast for next 24 hours from 9.00am today.
The southwest monsoon has withdrawn from Bangladesh, and a low-pressure area has developed over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and nearby regions. Day and night temperatures are expected to remain mostly unchanged across the country.
The country's highest temperature on Sunday was 35.2 degrees Celsius, recorded in Mongla, while the lowest temperature today was 23.0 degrees Celsius in Dimla.
The maximum rainfall in the last 24 hours, recorded until 6 AM today, was 27 millimeters in Patuakhali. In the capital, the sun will set at 5:33pm today and rise at 5:56am tomorrow.
