Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat has ordered authorities to quickly increase the number of luggage trolleys at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to improve passenger services.

The minister gave the instruction during an unannounced visit to the airport around 10:30pm on Friday (October 2).

He also inspected the baggage belt area and spoke with passengers waiting to collect their luggage.

Millat asked passengers how long they had to wait for their baggage after leaving their flights and sought feedback on the airport’s baggage delivery services.

Officials responsible for airport operations were present during the inspection.

According to the civil aviation and tourism authorities, passengers told the minister they were satisfied with the baggage delivery process and were generally receiving their luggage within the scheduled time.

The minister, however, stressed the need for further improvements in passenger services and instructed airport authorities to give the comfort and satisfaction of travellers the highest priority in all operations.
