Ministry of Education suspends online registration for eighth grade
To reduce the mental and financial stress of students, the Ministry of Education has suspended the online registration process for eighth grade students in 2026 until further notice. A copy has already been sent to all the concerned departments and education board chairmen, instructing them to stop this registration under the secondary and higher secondary education boards.
The ministry's notification said that since the Junior School Certificate (JSC) examination is currently suspended and according to the prevailing rules, a student registers once for admission to sixth grade and once again for the SSC examination in ninth grade. In this reality, the obligation to re-register in eighth grade was creating mental and financial stress on both students and their guardians.
The notification also said that this decision has been taken in line with the current education system and considering the interests of students.
As a result, students studying in eighth grade this year will not have to register online for the time being.
