Mirza Abbas to be taken to Singapore on Sunday
Prime Minister's political adviser and BNP standing committee member Mirza Abbas will be taken to Singapore on Sunday for advanced treatment.
Mirza Abbas's personal secretary Mizanur Rahman Sohel confirmed the matter to the media on Saturday (March 14) evening. He said that he will be taken to Singapore by air ambulance at 11am on Sunday. His wife and Jatiyatabadi Mahila Dal president Afroza Abbas and eldest son Mirza Yasir Abbas Bhashan will accompany him.
His brain surgery was completed at the capital's Evercare Hospital on Friday (March 13). He has been kept under close observation there. A CT scan of his brain was performed on Saturday morning, the report of which came out good, said BNP Health Affairs Secretary Rafiqul Islam.
Mirza Abbas, BNP standing committee member and political adviser to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, fell ill and lost consciousness during iftar on Wednesday (March 11).
Later, he was admitted to Evercare Hospital. Meanwhile, on Friday, when his physical condition deteriorated, a medical board of expert doctors reviewed everything and decided to perform Mirza Abbas's surgery in the country.
Later on Friday afternoon, the first round of brain surgery was completed at Evercare Hospital. Then, in the evening, after the second round of surgery, he was transferred to the Neuro ICU. Since then, he has been under close observation by the doctors of the Medical Board for 72 hours.
