BNP Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas visited Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Friday (December 12) to inquire about the condition of Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Mancha and the independent candidate for Dhaka-8, who was shot earlier in the day. According to the party, Hadi is receiving emergency treatment at DMCH and remains in a coma. Hadi was shot around noon while campaigning in the capital’s Bijoynagar Box Culvert area. Mohammad Faruk, in-charge of the DMCH police camp, said Hadi was brought in shortly after 2:30pm with a gunshot wound below his left ear and is in critical condition.

ত্রয়োদশ জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনে ঢাকা-৮ আসনে স্বতন্ত্র প্রার্থী ও ইনকিলাব মঞ্চের মুখপাত্র গুলিবিদ্ধ শরিফ ওসমান হাদিকে দেখতে ঢাকা মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে পৌঁছেছেন বিএনপির স্থায়ী কমিটির সদস্য মির্জা আব্বাস। আজ (শুক্রবার, ১২ ডিসেম্বর) দুপুরে দলের পক্ষ থেকে এ তথ্য জানানো হয়েছে। সর্বশেষ তথ্য অনুযায়ী, হাদিকে ঢাকা মেডিকেল কলেজে জরুরি চিকিৎসা দেয়া হচ্ছে। তিনি কোমায় আছেন। এর আগে আজ দুপুরে নির্বাচনি প্রচারণা চালানোর সময় রাজধানীর বিজয়নগরের বক্স কালভার্ট এলাকায় হাদির ওপর গুলি চালানো হয়। ঢাকা মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালের পুলিশ ক্যাম্পের ইনচার্জ মো. ফারুক বলেন, ‘দুপুর আড়াইটার পরপরই হাদিকে গুলিবিদ্ধ অবস্থায় হাসপাতালে নিয়ে আসা হয়। তার বাম কানের নিচে গুলি লেগেছে, অবস্থা আশঙ্কাজনক।’
