The physical condition of Mirza Abbas, the Prime Minister's political advisor and MP, who is undergoing treatment abroad, is improving, Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed said. He gave this information in response to a question from a Member of Parliament (MP) in the National Assembly session today, Tuesday.

In the session, Jamaat-e-Islami MP (MP) Shafiqul Islam Masud, standing at a point of order, wanted to know the latest physical condition of Mirza Abbas.

In response to this, the Speaker said, "Mirza Abbas has informed us in a letter. His condition is improving continuously. He will come here (to parliament) only when he recovers."

MP Shafiqul Islam Masud also wanted to know, "It is necessary to know about the rumors that are circulating (about Mirza Abbas) regarding the assassination of Sharif Osman Hadi."

In this regard, Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed said, "Who said what, cannot be discussed in JS. Matters pending in court and rumors cannot be the subject of discussion in parliament."

"If any other member of parliament loses his membership, everyone will be informed from parliament in due course," he added.

On May 6, Mirza Abbas’s wife Afroza Abbas said at a press conference that Mirza Abbas, the Prime Minister’s political adviser, is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Malaysia.

Afroza Abbas said that day, "Mirza Abbas is doing very well. His physical condition has improved. He is being given therapy every day."

Mirza Abbas suddenly lost consciousness during Iftar on March 11. As his condition did not improve, he was later admitted to Evercare Hospital in the capital. He underwent brain surgery there.

On March 15, he was taken to Singapore by air ambulance for advanced treatment. Later, on April 14, Mirza Abbas was admitted to the Prince Court Medical Center in Malaysia for physiotherapy.
