Mirza Abbas's second round of brain surgery successful
The second round of brain surgery on Mirza Abbas, political adviser to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and member of the BNP standing committee, has been concluded successfully.
His first surgery began at 3 pm on Friday (March 13). It ended at 6:15 pm. Then, considering the physical complications, the second round of surgery began at 6:30pm.
Doctors said that if the situation after the second round of surgery and his physical condition improve somewhat, he may be taken to Singapore for advanced treatment. Mirza Abbas's family has already made all necessary preparations, including a special plane (air ambulance) to transport patients by air.
Mirza Abbas suddenly lost consciousness while drinking water during Iftar on Wednesday. Later, as his physical condition continued to deteriorate rapidly, he was admitted to the capital's Evercare Hospital that night.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman went to the hospital to see Mirza Abbas today (Friday). He spoke to the doctors on duty there and inquired about the overall treatment. Mirza Abbas's family and party have sought prayers from the countrymen for his recovery.
