BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has accused political opponents of orchestrating conspiracies and making false accusations against the party.

He made the remarks during a district BNP conference held in Kishoreganj on Saturday afternoon (September 20).

Mirza Fakhrul asserted that BNP has contributed significantly to the country’s progress, saying, "BNP is like a phoenix bird—no one has been able to break it. Those who tried to destroy the party through violence and suppression have fled."

He emphasized that the party's current position was achieved through struggle, adding, "1971 is our pride."

Referring to the political turmoil during the 2007-2008 caretaker government (1/11), he said the BNP leadership, despite facing torture and exile, has renewed its vision for democracy. He called on the public to support BNP and provide Tarique Rahman the opportunity to lead the country.

Mirza Fakhrul also cautioned party leaders and activists against elevating individual names, warning that such actions could have negative consequences for the party.

Highlighting the legacy of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman, he said, "Ziaur Rahman introduced the democracy we speak of today and laid the foundation of modern Bangladesh. The party’s right to hold events freely today comes at the cost of blood and sacrifices during the mass uprisings."

He concluded by congratulating Begum Khaleda Zia, Tarique Rahman, and the students who participated in the movement that ousted the fascists.
