Noting that 'mob culture' is over in Bangladesh, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed said that mob culture will not be encouraged in any way from now on.

He said this in response to a question from journalists after meeting and exchanging views with officials in the ministry's meeting room at the Secretariat on Wednesday (February 18).

The Home Minister said that the police have been instructed to be friends of the people.

The image that was previously destroyed must be restored. And we want to build a completely corruption-free ministry.

He said that everyone's accountability and transparency must be maintained. No illegal lobbying will be allowed.

If anyone in the force is involved in a crime, immediate action will be taken through investigation.

In response to a question about mob culture, he said, I specifically said that mob culture is over in Bangladesh. Mob culture will not be encouraged in any way.

He said, there will be demands, processions and rallies can be held in due process.

All types of democratic practices within the law will continue. But highway or road blockades to achieve demands, or mob culture—these will not be tolerated.
