Mohila Dal holds protest march against Jamaat Ameer 'X' post
Leaders and activists of the Bangladesh Jatiotabadi Mohila Dal held a protest march against Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Dr. Shafiqur Rahman over derogatory remarks targeting women.
The protest began at BNP’s central office in Naya Paltan at Monday noon (February 2), passed through Kakrail and Nightingale Mor, and concluded back at the party headquarters.
Some participants expressed their anger by displaying brooms during the march and chanted various slogans condemning Dr. Shafiqur Rahman.
The march was led by BNP Standing Committee member Selima Rahman, Senior Joint Secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Mohila Dal President Afroza Abbas, Senior Vice President Helen Jerin Khan, and General Secretary Shirin Sultana.
Leaders from the city women’s wing also participated.
The demonstration follows controversial remarks reportedly made by Dr. Shafiqur on Saturday night targeting working women. Jamaat initially claimed his account had been hacked, later stating that his device had been compromised.
