An unknown caller reported a bomb threat on Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG-373 from Dhaka to Kathmandu. As a result, the flight was thoroughly searched for three hours, but no bomb was discovered.

So far, Rab has arrested three people in connection with the incident. According to Rab, the case involves a family issue. The mother made the false bomb threat call to stop her son from traveling to Kathmandu with his extramarital lover.

Rab Director General (DG) Additional Inspector General of Police AKM Shahidur Rahman shared these details at a press conference held on Saturday (July 12) in Karwan Bazar.

He said, "Recently, a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight from Dhaka to Kathmandu was forced to make an emergency landing due to a bomb threat call. The plane was thoroughly searched, but no bomb was found. So far, we have arrested three people in connection with this incident."

"Initially, we learned that a man was planning to travel to Kathmandu with his extramarital lover on that flight. His wife and mother found out about it. Later, the mother, after receiving information from one of the man's friends, called air traffic control and falsely reported a bomb on the plane to prevent her son from going to Kathmandu with his lover," the Rab DG added.
