Motorcycle used in Hadi attack identified, owner arrested

Rapid Action Battalion ( RAB ) have identified the motorcycle used in the attack on Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of Inqilab Mancha and a potential independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency.

Additionally, the motorcycle’s owner, Abdul Hannan, has been arrested by RAB-2 on suspicion of involvement in the incident.

According to RAB-2 sources, the motorcycle was identified through analysis of CCTV footage from the scene and other technological data shortly after the attack. Following this, a raid was conducted, leading to the arrest of Abdul Hannan.

RAB officials said that during preliminary interrogation, the arrestee admitted ownership of the motorcycle. Investigators are now examining who was using the vehicle at the time of the attack and whether the owner had any direct involvement in the incident.

Efforts are ongoing to identify and arrest others linked to the attack, the officials said.

Earlier, Sharif Osman Hadi was shot by assailants in the Paltan–Bijoynagar area of the capital. He was rushed to hospital following the attack and is currently undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital.
