MP attends parliament in afternoon after PM's 'scolding' in Sylhet in morning
A few members of the party's parliament arrived at Sylhet Osmani International Airport to welcome the Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman. The Prime Minister expressed annoyance at seeing them. At that time, Sylhet-6 constituency MP Emran Ahmed Chowdhury greeted and shook hands with the Prime Minister. Then the Prime Minister asked, 'Why are you here? There is no parliament today?' They replied that they were. Then the Prime Minister said, 'Then go to parliament. I will go to Moulvibazar, you have no work here. You go to parliament.'
The incident took place at Sylhet airport on Wednesday (June 17) morning.
Some eyewitnesses said that the Prime Minister landed at Sylhet airport to join a visit to Moulvibazar on Wednesday morning. At that time, members of parliament from various constituencies of Sylhet arrived at the airport to welcome the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister expressed annoyance at seeing them in the airport lounge and scolded them.
Meanwhile, after receiving such a scolding from the Prime Minister, Emran Ahmed Chowdhury MP went from Sylhet in the afternoon and appeared directly in the Parliament. He also joined the Parliament session.
Then, in his Facebook post from the Parliament building, MP Emran Ahmed Chowdhury wrote, 'While welcoming BNP Chairman and Honorable Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the airport, I immediately went to the great National Parliament in Dhaka as per his instructions. Tarique Rahman is working to make the Parliament very strong and wants to make the Parliament the center of all activities. This shows how much importance he gives to parliamentary democracy.'
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman reached Sylhet by plane from Dhaka on Wednesday morning and went to Srimangal in Moulvibazar by road. At a program organized at the Victoria High School ground in Srimangal upazila, the Prime Minister distributed 'family cards' and planted two tree saplings (jam and blackcurrant) there. Then he distributed 'family cards' at the 'Moulvibazar Government High School' ground in Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila.
