The newly elected Members of Parliament (MPs) from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) took their oath on Tuesday (February 17).

The swearing-in ceremony, held at the Parliament Secretariat’s oath hall, began at 10:45am and was administered by Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin.

As per protocol, BNP MPs, representing the majority party, were sworn in first.

However, heavy traffic in Dhaka caused delays for many attendees.

Witnesses reported seeing newly elected MP Ehsanul Haque Milon rushing and even leaping to enter the Parliament building to avoid missing the ceremony.

Several other guests and officials were also unable to arrive on time due to the congestion.
