Musician Dalia Nausheen no more

'Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra' vocalist and Nazrul Sangeet singer Dalia Nausheen has passed away. She breathed her last while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Dhaka at 12:57pm on Wednesday. She was 71 years old at the time of her death.

According to family sources, she had been suffering from cancer for a long time. When her physical condition deteriorated, she was admitted to the hospital on March 27. She died while undergoing treatment there.

Her cousin and Nazrul Sangeet singer Sadia Afrin Mallick confirmed the death to the media.

The family informed that her funeral will be held at the Gulshan Society Mosque after Maghrib. She will be buried at the Banani Graveyard later. Dalia Nausheen has two sons, one of whom lives in the United States and the other in Spain.

Dalia Nausheen was a renowned Nazrul Sangeet singer and vocalist of 'Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra'. She was awarded the Ekushey Padak in 2020 in recognition of her special contribution to music. She is the daughter of renowned architect Mazharul Islam.
