MyTV Chairman deatined

Nasir Uddin Sathi, chairman of the private television channel MyTV, was detained by the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police on Sunday evening.

The arrest took place during a raid in the Gulshan area of the capital city, confirmed Mohammad Nasirul Islam, Joint Commissioner (South) of the DB.

Nasir Uddin Sathi is reportedly an accused in a murder case filed at Jatrabari police station, which is linked to the recent anti-discrimination student movement. Authorities arrested him in connection with this case.

He is scheduled to be produced before the court tomorrow, where police will seek his remand for further investigation.
