Nahid must clarify who seeks safe exit: Environment Adviser
Environment, Forest and Climate Change Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan has said she has never fled during difficult times in the country, adding that she remains transparent and responsible in her role and will continue to stay in Bangladesh. She also asserted that Nahid Islam, Convener of the National Citizens’ Platform (NCP), must clarify who is seeking a “safe exit”.
She made the remarks while speaking to journalists at the Secretariat on Wednesday, October 8, regarding the safe exit issue. Earlier, in an interview with a private television channel, Nahid Islam alleged that several advisers had developed links with political parties and were seeking a safe exit.
Responding to the allegation, Rizwana Hasan said, “It is easy to make such comments, but to be responsible one must provide proof—who exactly is seeking a safe exit? On this matter, it is Nahid who must clarify.”
The Adviser reiterated that the interim government wants a transparent election and will provide maximum support to the Election Commission to achieve this.
She further said that participation in the elections by any political party would depend on legal aspects and political decisions.
