Naimur Rahman Durjoy, former MP from Manikganj-1 constituency and former captain of the national cricket team, has been arrested from the capital's Lalmatia. A team of the Detective Branch (DB) of Manikganj arrested him, said Dhaka Range DIG Rezaul Karim Mallick. Naimur Rahman Durjoy was elected MP from Manikganj-1 constituency as an Awami League candidate in the 2001 national elections. Later, he was elected MP from the same constituency in 2014 and 2018 on the Awami League's nomination. There are several cases against him, including murder.

মানিকগঞ্জ-১ আসনের সাবেক সংসদ সদস্য ও জাতীয় ক্রিকেট দলের সাবেক অধিনায়ক নাঈমুর রহমান দুর্জয়কে রাজধানী লালমাটিয়া থেকে গ্রেপ্তার করা হয়েছে। মানিকগঞ্জের গোয়েন্দা পুলিশের (ডিবি) একটি দল তাকে গ্রেপ্তার করে বলে জানান ঢাকা রেঞ্জের ডিআইজি রেজাউল করিম মল্লিক। নাঈমুর রহমান দুর্জয় ২০০১ খ্রিষ্টাব্দে জাতীয় সংসদ নির্বাচনে আওয়ামী লীগের প্রার্থী হিসেবে মানিকগঞ্জ-১ আসন থেকে সংসদ সদস্য নির্বাচিত হন। পরবর্তীতে তিনি আওয়ামী লীগের মনোনয়নে ২০১৪ ও ২০১৮ খ্রিষ্টাব্দেও একই আসন থেকে এমপি নির্বাচিত হন। তার বিরুদ্ধে হত্যাসহ একাধিক মামলা রয়েছে।
