Narendra Modi expresses deep grief over the death of Khaleda Zia

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep grief over the death of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. He posted this condolence message on social media on Tuesday (December 30).

In his condolence message, he called Begum Zia an important political figure in the history of Bangladesh.

In his condolence message, Narendra Modi said, "I am deeply saddened by the passing away of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia in Dhaka. Our heartfelt condolences to her family and the people of Bangladesh. May the Almighty grant her family the strength to bear this grief."

He also said, "As the first female Prime Minister of Bangladesh, her significant contribution to the development of the country and strengthening India-Bangladesh relations will be remembered forever."

Reminiscing about himself, the Indian Prime Minister said, "I recall my warm meeting with her in Dhaka in 2015. We hope that his vision and political legacy will guide our bilateral partnership in the future."

In the closing part of the condolence message, Narendra Modi said, "May her soul rest in peace."
