A legal notice has been served against National Citizens’ Party (NCP) leader Nasiruddin Patwary over allegations of making derogatory and defamatory remarks about the Prime Minister and her daughter.

The notice was issued by A K M Azizul Haque Khan, an advocate of Mymensingh District Judge Court and Public Prosecutor of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), who confirmed the matter to media on Saturday (May 23).

Azizul Haque Khan also shared the legal notice on his Facebook profile as a status update.

According to the notice, Nasiruddin Patwary is accused of making comments that allegedly insulted the Prime Minister and her daughter, Zaima Rahman, causing emotional distress and harming their public image.

The notice further states that the remarks have hurt “millions of people,” including the complainant himself, and have led to reputational damage.

It also seeks an explanation from the accused within 15 days as to why defamation proceedings should not be initiated against him.

The notice warns that legal action will be taken in court if no satisfactory response is provided within the stipulated time.

The complainant has requested a written reply explaining the allegations, failing which he intends to pursue a defamation case through legal channels.
