Nasiruddin Patwary visits returning officer, alleges vote manipulation

Convener of National Citizen Party and a candidate Nasiruddin Patwary has visited the Returning Officer's office, alleging that the results of six centers in Dhaka-8 constituency were changed.

He entered the office of Dhaka Divisional Commissioner and Returning Officer Sharaf Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury to meet him at 7:30pm on Thursday.

His chief election agent Shahin Ahmed Khan, who was with Nasiruddin Patwary, told the media that these irregularities are being committed at Siddeshwari Boys' High School, Motijheel Ideal School and College, Eskaton Boys' High School, Paltan Family Planning Center, Mahbub Ali Institute and Mirza Abbas College.

He said that Mirza Abbas's wife Afroza Abbas is personally present in the counting of the results of Siddeshwari Boys' High School center and exerting influence.

Shahin Ahmed Khan said, "Even after getting 15 more votes in Mirza Abbas College, agents have been detained for counting the votes again. They are trying to move forward by counting the votes thrice in the centers adding invalid votes."

He further said, "We have received news from these centers, we are also receiving news of agents being detained in several other centers. Even though we are ahead in these centers, the results are not being announced. He (Patwary) has come to complain about these."

The candidate of the Jamaat-led alliance was still sitting in the office of the returning officer till writing the news at 9 pm.
